Round table “LBO Small-cap: championing transformation and value creation”

Events

Historically, small caps have been the most active segment of the private equity market. The economic uncertainties and rising interest rates of recent months have not dampened its own momentum. Quite the contrary, in fact. Less sensitive to rising interest rates, the small-cap segment continues to be very active, attracting mid-cap funds as well, which have come to this segment to build platforms at good prices. As France Invest’s latest study shows, the Buy & Build strategy for creating value is still gaining ground, with the number of build-ups doubling last year. But to maintain the double-digit returns expected by LPs, other levers need to be activated, such as ESG, AI and sector expertise.

Organised by MAGAZINE DES AFFAIRES on 19 March 2024 at our offices in Paris, this round-table discussion takes a look back at a segment that has evolved considerably over the last two years:

  • Nouria Barnat – ARKEA CAPITAL
  • Jacques-Henri Hacquin – NG FINANCE
  • Gabriel Hainault – LARGILLIERE FINANCE
  • Bertrand Hermant – LAMARTINE CONSEIL
  • Fabrice Huglin – NEXIA S&A
  • Benjamin Marché – SQUIRE PATTON BOGGS
  • Cécile Nguyen – APPOSITE CAPITAL
  • Olivier Renault – LAMARTINE CONSEIL
  • Philippe Serzec – PWC
